Does anyone fancy getting involved in training for an obstacle style endurance event? Some friends, colleagues, clients and I have entered a race event for next year April. The challenge itself is an endurance event series in which participants attempt a 10–12 mile long obstacle course. The event is in April, 2014. We train as a cohesive mixed group (of at the moment 11) and help each other every step of the way. Training has begun with simply building up (at individual paces) into that 10 mile run. We started at 1 mile and have built to 4.5 adding .5 each week. At the beginning of next year we will want to build muscular endurance and strength to help tackle the 25 course obstacles. Thus spread across January to April there are 7 group training dates as a means of coming together to synchronise our individual progressions.
I think this is a good way to start the New Year- with a set challenge and make sure to stay fitness focused, determined and motivated.If anyone is at all interested please be in touch. We'll be happy to hear from you. The open invitation is genuine...
