Old Diary Centre shops

Does anyone know what shops are going in the Old Diary Centre when it is finished?

No. Heard one of them might be a new Vets practice and possibly a Cote Brasserie in the Lloyds bank building.

ughh not another chain, bad enough having Cafe Rouge there :(
This has been the longest project ever, ridiculous!

Unfortunately the rents and rates are very high - what would you rather, have the shops empty? Café Rouge isn't everyone's tasse de thé, but it's always quite busy; Côte is at least an alternative place to eat....

It's Dulwich estate so it will be boring chain shops...
I have also heard a vets/pet shop and Cote in Lloyds...
The pharmacy are also taking one of the units.
Still leaves 2 empty and also Phase 8 unit too.
It's a shame. A good independent coffee shop would be great - like another Volcano or Blackbird or Perks and White!

Tough call for me to be honest, just really dislike those chains, had hoped WD would get a few more independent places. Agree with MtnBike Chick re coffee shop or even a little restaurant with a bar for drinks/snacks as we only have the pubs.

Dulwich estates have no scope for any of these shops unfortunately, They hike up the rents keeping out anything interesting or forward thinking...I mean Tops Tiles.. and how did the planning go through, have you ever tried applying for planning permission for domestic extensions with them... it also looks like the Italian restaurant is in trouble .

Personally a good chippy or decent kebab shop would be good for grabbing a bite when you get off the 3 bus late and drunk as a lord.

Dulwich Estate has received planning consent for the change of use of one of the units from A1 retail to D1 for a vet surgery. The tenant named in the application was the national chain Vets 4 Pets. It is the second new unit from the left.

Meanwhile at Companies House, Adaya Limited, the restaurant that was Da Porcini and more recently a sort of pizza restaurant has gone into liquidation, and the liquidator has disclaimed the lease so Dulwich Estate has another vacant unit.

Local vet in area would be a great thing

I wonder if these people have actually visited the area. The description is all over the place and there hasn't been a bank here for some while now:

So with one shop "let" to a pharmacy (excellent) that leaves just four vacant shops in this terrace.
I hear talk of a restaurant in the old Lloyds building but that is too small without an extension and that would be a very brave shout in the current market when the Estate can't let what it currently has.

£71,000 a year is the rental required for these new units.

Dulwich estates again pricing out anything interesting or useful to locals.
