Long Johns

Now safe in their drawer until next Winter, but could not have done without them this year.

Few admit to owning them. However, judging by the speed at which they fly off the racks/shelves in the stores, I'd say they are relatively popular. Certainly, I love mine.

Any closet wearers of Long Johns out there fancy coming out?

My dear Maam,

Dash it all if I wasn't discussing this very matter with my old friend, Cyril Pendlebury-Cheesewright, the other day.

My aunt's parrot, Horace, has several pairs. Although now that Spring is upon us again, Molly and Eustace have been busy cleaning and pressing. I'm afraid we won't see these jolly spiffing items of clothing again for a while.

What ho! Anyway, I'm out. Who else?

This is all very well, but beginning to sound rather like an episode of Dragon's Den. One has to be careful: many a litigious buggar out there you know.

Jolly brave of you to come out though.

So, do you have a wife? And what does she think of your Long Johns? Moreover, does she wear them?

Jolly brave? well, one does what one can. Long Johns have always been a subject of interest for me. One can't have too many pairs, I say.

My dear wife, god rest her, was happy in M&S 'value pack' thongs. The family purse-strings were in safe hands when my Constance was around.

Good Night Maam, its been an absolute pleasure, I must say. And Toodle Pip, West Dulwichers.

Good Morning Aslan,

Lovely idea! Earl Grey for me please; milk and 2 sugars. A slice of lemon drizzle would be good too.

Remind me, the Drawing Room is East...yes?

Oh, and don't forget to invite Master Quids.

I wonder if Master Quids wears Long Johns? And you Aslan?

Never mind your plus fours Major...had to retrieve my Long Longs from the drawer this morning. Frightfully chilly out on the pitch this morning. Had to remove them again at half time though...thank heavens for bushes...

So, no one else owns up to wearing them? Anybody fantasise about doing so?

Thank heavens for bushes? Seems we have travelled back in time by a few decades.

A stiff gin please Butler.

Couldn't be arsed to walk the 500 yards to the Park's convenience Major, not with having to dodge all that dog poo and those wretched bugaboos. Talking of backsides...oh never mind...

Make that two stiff gins, please Butler.
