I have recently had my flat painted/decorated. The guy who did it has his van full of his own equipment, he is not qualified but for £8 an hour, what else do you want. He comes from Northamptonshire and is a freelance. The only thing is, he needs to be put up in terms of accomodation, be that a couch or a bed, but he doesn't get in your way and doesn't leave the property. He brings his own breakfast and lunch, but he might mess in with you for dinner as he has nowhere to go in the evening. A slight imposition but if you don't mind an extra guest for a few days, with 8hours at £64 a day, what more can you ask. You must provide the paint & tape.

He does gardening, not landscaping but you can always ask him. I work full time, he looked after my pet rabbit during the day and kept him company. He enjoys a smoke and a glass of pino grigio and is looking for more work in and around London so he can stop off and visit his son on route.

If you want his e-mail/tel number, please reply to private thread.

Brockwell Lido has yoga classes every day/evening of the week at a range of different levels. I've been going to the beginners class on Wednesday nights 6.30-8.00pm on and off for the last 4 years (yes I really should have moved up a level by now but I like the pace of that class). Since Brockwell Lido had its major facelift the venue is really smart as well. You can find a yoga timetable via the Lido's website at http://www.porism.com/blu/

The lido is in Herne Hill which is an easy bus ride from West Dulwich on the number 3 bus. The yoga does cost £10 a class unless you're unemployed so the class at Brixton Recreation Centre may be cheaper.

I would urge you all to log on to east dulwich forum and follow the thread for credit card fraud. You will be AMAZED. Same shop (somerfields), same ATM (HSBC), same garage (TEXACO), all coming up constantly in east dulwich, yet, amazingly, these known premises are seemingly getting away with all of this. Have we become so mamsby pansby that our police force are afraid to question employees of these shops?

[What's on] Open Air Cinema In Dulwich Park - 25th August

Open Air Cinema comes to Dulwich!

On Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August, The Screen On The Green launches in Dulwich Park with the screening of a classic film on a big screen. We are hoping to establish this as a real asset to the local community and are planning a whole season of films to be screened in the park next summer.

You can vote for the film to be screened on the website www.thescreenonthegreen.com There's a shortlist of four... 'Casablanca', 'Some Like It Hot', 'The Graduate' and 'Breakfast At Tiffany's'. The film with the most votes will be screened!

Tickets are available online at www.thescreenonthegreen.com for a price of £7.50 each. Food and drink will be on sale on the night courtesy of the Pavilion Cafe. So bring a blanket to sit on and come and enjoy a glass of Pimm's or champagne in the park with a classic film on a 10 metre screen!

Please note, parking is available at the Old College Gate entrance and this will be the only exit available after the film, so make sure if you are driving, you leave the car on this side of the park! For more details, please go to the website. Look forward to seeing you there!
